Nakagawa-unga also known as Naka-kawa, Nakagawa Canal. In the 1930s, at the time of its construction, the Nakagawa Unga has been a modern infrastructure for carrying goods between port and railway station of Nagoya, Japan. But since the means of transport changed to cars it has been largely forgotten afterwards remaining as a witness of the industrialization during the post-war Shōwa period. Today it’s a place with a very unique atmosphere.
Some of the pictures were created in cooperation with a research project on Nakagawa Unga townscape, which was published as a book. You can get the book here.
